By now you should have noticed we are movie buffs. You may have also guessed that Tag Alders Night Stalker is named after our favorite sci-fi hard-nosed protagonist in the Alien series.
Sigourney Weaver, who portrayed the tough-as-nails heroine Ellen Ripley, was fearless when confronting the meanest alien race to besiege the American sci-fi genre; so too is our Ripley when it comes to all things hunting and training. Her intense prey drive, most certainly inherited from her father INT CH, VC Sharp Shooters Man in Black MH, overtakes any hesitancy a young dog might normally show in new situations.
For a dog that doesn’t let dust settle under her feet, Ripley shows great maturity and confidence. She is able to focus her intense energy on the task she’s charged with and quickly learns how to work herself through new challenges. She took immediately to the intimidating cattail sloughs we frequent in North Dakota as well as working tree rows and heavy cover with just the right speed. She shows no trepidation in chasing and searching for ducks in new ponds yet always seems to be doing the hard job for us, not off of an independent pursuit.
Ripley’s tough demeanor doesn’t mean she can’t still snuggle when she’s in the house. Her funny personality, combined with her sturdy work ethic and spectacular conformation has us eager to see what her future will bring. We truly couldn’t be happier with this pairing between Cash and Sharp Shooters Big Talking Lady, daughter of our INT CH, VC Sharp Shooters Fast As You.
